- Warm your hands to increase blood flow.
Wash your hands with warm soapy water for at least 2 minutes before collecting your sample. Cold hands will make it much harder to collect your sample. - Make sure that you provide enough blood.
Check to make sure that each circle is completely filled before moving to the next circle. The blood spot must completely fill the circle and soak through to the back of the card.
- Do not remove the silica gel packet from the specimen bag.
The packet helps to preserve your sample on its way to the lab. - Read the instructions before collecting your sample!
